Expert Profile

An expert profile is the anonymised summary of an expert's professional background that a network presents to a buyer pre-call. Identity is removed (replaced with role-based descriptors); the substance — role, seniority, employer types, expertise — is preserved.

Profiles are the operational mechanism by which buyers evaluate candidate experts pre-call. A good profile lets the buyer determine fit without disclosing expert identity until commitment.

Standard elements: current/recent role description, seniority indicator, employer type (anonymised), years in role, specific expertise areas, geographic context, language capabilities. Profiles do NOT include employer name (until expert is selected and identity is confirmed).

Profile quality affects buyer decisions materially. Vague profiles ('Senior leader in technology') produce uncertain buyer matches. Specific profiles ('VP-level engineering leader at a US-headquartered enterprise SaaS company with 1,000+ engineers, 8 years in current role') produce confident matches.

Once a buyer selects an expert from the profile shortlist, the network confirms identity and conducts the per-call attestation. Some buyers don't see expert identity until post-call; others see it before. Reputable networks accommodate both preferences.

03/Frequently Asked3 questions
Q.01

Why aren't expert identities shared upfront?

Protects the expert's reputation and the network's relationships. Identity is shared at commitment, with the expert's consent and per-call attestation.

Q.02

Can I request more profile detail?

Yes. Senior researchers expand profile detail on request when the standard profile isn't sufficient for buyer decision-making.

Q.03

How does an expert's profile change over time?

Updated as the expert's role changes. New positions are added; cooling-off restrictions are tracked; ratings accumulate. The profile a buyer sees today reflects the expert's current operational standing.
